WEEK 14 – Tithing
This week we’re talking about “Tithing.”
Money is capable of great good & great harm. But the power is in the user. The power is inside of us.
WE have the power to use or abuse it. To be good stewards of it, or to fall in love with it & therefor fall into all sorts of evil that comes from letting it grip your heart.
So God gave us the idea of the TITHE to help us keep that whole thing in check.
Everything comes from the Lord, so we give Him back our first & our best 10% as a symbol of our gratitude & that He is our provider, and as a symbol that we are living surrendered to Him fully, not only with the 10% but also with the rest of the other 90% and all of our hearts as well.
Obedience, joy, peace, protection… so much is locked up inside of the blessing that comes on the other side of tithing!
Check out Malachi 3:8-12
“Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LordAlmighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.
Such a powerful principle that we have seen OVER AND OVER in our lives come true.

QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF
- What is holding you back from tithing on every ounce of income that you receive?
- Do you tithe at the end of the month IF there’s any leftover, or do you write that tithe check, BOOM, right when it comes?
- How could you go even beyond the tithe into what they call tithes & “OFFERINGS” & start to give even more? Whether to missions, specific missionaries, just giving over & beyond to your local church, charities or non-profits, people you know, etc.?
- Maybe even consider going beyond the tithe with a regular “tithe” of a higher percentage.
- Maybe consider going beyond the tithe in creating a segmented part of your budget set aside for blessing people in need month to month as you feel led, so that there is margin & a specific space for that type of thing in your budget already set aside for the Lord to speak to you about. If there is a need, BLAM, there you are ready to give to it.

This week, read through each one of these Scriptures each morning.
Think about just how valuable it is to commit specific time to take a TITHING.
Ask God if there are any areas you need to surrender or change in order to devote more time to connecting with God through the TITHING.
Let this theme guide your God time all week, and even your thoughts and conversation with Him through out your days, all week long.
Let Him speak to you about this idea of TITHING, and see what He says.
