week 22 – REVELATION 2 (PART 2) – THE CHURCH IN SMYRNA
This week we’re talking about BEING FAITHFUL TO JESUS THROUGH PERSECUTION, EVEN TO THE POINT OF DEATH.
THE CHURCH IN SMYRNA
Jesus speaks a completely different message to the Church in Smyrna than the one in Ephesus that we studied last week.
This time it’s all about encouraging them to be faithful through suffering, “even to the point of death”, and the rewards He will give them (and us) when we are faithful til the end.
The Lord sees you. He knows you. He knows what you are suffering. He knows what you will suffer.
And He wants to encourage you to LAST TIL THE END because life with Jesus through out all eternity is way more important than trying to save your life here on earth.
Jesus is WAY more beautiful than ANYTHING that this life has to offer.
So read through the Scriptures & let’s chat about this idea of persecution, suffering, & lasting until the very end!
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF
- Am I afraid to die or to suffer for my faith?
- Am I 100% committed to Jesus so much so that I hold more dearly to life in eternity with Him more than my own life here on Earth?
- How can I prepare my heart & resolve now, so that if that type of suffering ever does come, I can “be faithful, even to the point of death”, so that I can receive from Jesus the crown of life He has promised?

This week, read through REVELATION 2:8-11 (and the other Scriptures) as many times as you want to.
Think about the what God might be saying to you through it.
Ask God if there are any areas in your life that need some reshaping in order to ling up with this teaching.
