week 21 – REVELATION 2 (PART 1) – THE CHURCH IN EPHESUS
This week we’re talking about RETURNING TO OUR FIRST LOVE (JESUS).
The Church in Ephesus TOTALLY had everything together.
They learned the lifestyle and had followed Jesus & let Him reshape them completely.
They learned leadership, they learned pastoring, they learned so much.
But the problem they started to face was that they started to just go through the motions and forget about the purpose of it all… intimacy with the Father through Jesus!
And it’s really easy for us to stumble into as well.
My prayer for us this week is to dive into this passage, to let the Holy Spirit illuminate the ways that we have started to just go through the motions, and hopefully WOO us back to intimacy with Jesus!
Let’s spent some legitimate time repenting this week.
Let’s spend some actual coming back to Jesus time, letting Him be our first love again, giving him our absolute love & devotion & abandonment we did when we first gave Him our lives!
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF
- In what ways could you have “forgotten your first love?”
- What did you do when you were first saved that you don’t so much do anymore? (actual actions or even emotions, etc.)
- How could you recapture that spirit of love & adoration and give God that priority and time again with complete abandonment?
