week 24 – REVELATION 2 (PART 4) – THE CHURCH IN THYATIRA
This week is ALLLLLLL about PURITY.
THE CHURCH IN THYATIRA
The Church in THYATIRA is struggling majorly with sexual immorality.
Jesus even says that their sexual immorality is like they are following Jezebel, the evil queen in 1 Kings.
She represents a seductress, but here she is said to be masquerading as a prophetess. Basically, she teaches people to be Christians and go to church, and to also get whatever sexual pleasure they want to as well.
This doctrine of duplicity will not stand in Jesus’ courts and it will not be tolerated. Jesus HATES sexual immorality. He knows that it destroys us inside and out and He wants us completely rid of it.
He hates it so much that he is making some extremely harsh consequences for her & anyone following her ways or even dabbling in her ways, unless they completely repent and turn away from her ways.
He has “eyes of blazing fire” it says in verse one, and He wants us to know that He “searches hearts and minds.”
He sees us, He knows us, and He wants us clean and pure.
If we overcome this struggle, He’ll give us authority over the nations, and the morning star.
Don’t be deceived by the LIE of pleasure. TRUE PLEASURE is found at Jesus’ right hand (Psalm 16:11).
Don’t look at it, don’t go that way, don’t walk her path.
Run as far away from Jezebel as you can. Overcome. And stick with Jesus.
The “pleasure” she brings ends in death, every time.
And the pleasure Jesus brings, brings life and freedom, every time.

We for sure have to make sure that our definition of what is immoral and moral is coming from Scripture and God’s heart, and not from society or just what we think should be okay.
But you have to actually be digging into Scripture and knowing God’s heart to actually be able to let Him define things like that for you.
Overall, do whatever it takes to make absolutely sure that you don’t get caught in Jezebel’s lifestyle and lie.
Overcome in Jesus’ name!

- Have I bought the lie that Jezebel is whispering, that sexual immorality isn’t that bad?
- Is walking in purity, and becoming that PURE BRIDE OF CHRIST DRESSED IN WHITE of upmost importance to you?
- Does your definition of sexual immorality come from Scripture and God’s heart, or from self, society, or somewhere else?
- Do you need help overcoming a sexual addiction or any form of impurity in your life? (If so, don’t go it alone. Pray, and reach out to us for help).
