week 29 – JAMES 2- Treat EVERYONE Like They Are Valuable
James is hitting his main point home in Chapter 2 here, that if faith is real, it will SHOW ITSELF with deeds.
The faith & the deeds will match, not just an empty faith.
But for faith to be true & whole it automatically comes with deeds that match it, otherwise, it’s empty & not real.
SHEESH.
That’s so true, but it’s also such a big point because so often we just get into the “going through the motions” mode, and we have “faith” in God , but we don’t live like Him towards other people.
Those are moments where our faith isn’t complete because we’re still living selfish and pent up instead of selfless & pouring out like Jesus.
In this particular chapter James hits on favoritism.
He’s basically talking about when we see people and judge them by their outward appearance or income, instead of looking at their hearts & treating all people like they are valuable… seeing them through God’s eyes.
There is gold in every person God has created, even if they don’t see it in themselves.
So let’s REALLY take some time on this one…
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF
- What types of people to we treat better than others?
- Do we spend actual time in our lives treating the poor & needy like they are valuable & loved?
- Do we treat rich people or any specific group of people like they are better or more valuable than others?
- Who could you reach out to that you wouldn’t normally reach out to?
- How could you treat people with MERCY instead of JUDGEMENT?

Think about the what God might be saying to you through it.
Ask God if there are any areas in your life that need some reshaping in order to ling up with this teaching.
